Overview
Children's Division
At Turning Pointe Chicago, we are proud to offer foundational dance training for young dancers. In our comprehensive and fun pre-ballet classes, students participate in ballet exercises and activities that promote coordination, rythym, discipline, and a love for dance. Most importantly, our teachers are professionals in their field who have vast knowledge in dance. They are passionate about passing down their gifts and talents to their students, while being loving and wonderful role models.
Detail
Details
Students are placed in Children's Division classes according to age. Students beginning in Preschool ballet must be age three or older by August 30th and potty trained in order to enroll in this year's classes.
Children's Division classes are carefully tailored to introduce students to foundational dance concepts at an age-appropriate pace. Preschool Ballet classes focus on helping students to burn energy, learn basic discipline, and explore their God-given creativity in movement. Kindergarten Ballet classes include a little more structure, including a few more basic ballet skills. Students who move up to 1st & 2nd grade ballet build basic ballet steps into a foundational knowledge of ballet and a growing love for dance.
Students in 2nd grade and older are eligible for acceptance into Level IA of the Training Division.
The dress code for all Children's Division classes is the same. Girls are required to wear a light pink leotard (skirts allowed), pink tights, pink ballet shoes, and hair pulled back. Boys are required to wear black stretch pants, a white T-shirt, and black ballet shoes.

Students in the Children's Division have two opportunities to perform. During the Fall Semester, students participate in Christmas Praise, an in-studio perofrmance for friends and family that shows off the students' hard work! In the Spring Semster, studnets participate in Turning Pointe's Spring production, which is usually a story ballet.
Students in the Children's Division also have an opportunity to demonstrate what they have been learning during Parent Observation Week.
