With this mission in mind, Turning Pointe seeks to offer the highest quality dance training in a nurturing Christian environment.
Beginning in 1999 with 23 students in a local church, Turning Pointe School of Dance has grown to be one of Holland's largest dance schools with satellite schools in Hudsonville, MI and Chicago.
Turning Pointe:
Recognizes the need for excellent technical training in Classical Ballet along with an introduction to other dance forms.
Recognizes the need to nurture the dancers' faith, encouraging them to grow in confidence and responsibility as they pursue the art of dance.
Recognizes the need to reclaim the gift of dance for the church.
At Turning Pointe we strive to create an atmosphere in which each student can develop skills in dance through proper technique in Classical Ballet, Pointe, Partnering, Contemporary, Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop. From a modest beginning using a small classroom in a local church, Turning Pointe now has over 375 students from Ottawa, Kent and Allegan Counties. Turning Pointe provides a place where students of differing abilities, ethnic backgrounds, and economic circumstances are encouraged to dance. The school seeks to provide a well-rounded program where dancers are guided through a curriculum designed to enhance both physical skill and spiritual growth.

Lara Bremer Faucher is the founder and Artistic Director of Turning Pointe. As a high school student attending a summer workshop at Ballet Magnificat! in Jackson, Mississippi, Lara realized she could combine her love for God with her love for dance. She toured with this premier Christian dance company for two years before attending college. Lara founded Turning Pointe School of Dance, a Christian Ministry, in 1999, after graduating from Hope College in Holland, Michigan. She received a degree in Dance Choreography and Performance, from Hope College and a concentration in Bible and Theology from Kuyper College.
After marrying Lara in December 2001, Rick Faucher joined the school faculty as Executive Director. Rick has danced professionally with Indianapolis Ballet Theater and Les Ballet Jazz de Montréal. He toured with Ballet Magnificat as a dancer and Technical Director from 1987 till 1997. He then began teaching and directing in The Ballet Magnificat School of Arts where he served as head of the Trainee Program and Director of Ballet Magnificat II.
Lara and her husband, Rick, offer their knowledge of dance technique and choreography as a way to bring dance into the Christian arena with artistic excellence. They believe that dance is an effective way to reach people for Christ. Dance can be used to touch peoples hearts and can cause people to experience the presence of God in unique ways.
